Error Code: 9001-0065
Description:
Steps for when you receive error code 9001-0065 when trying to make a digital purchase or redeem a download code on the Nintendo website.
What to do
This error means that the content you are trying to obtain has already been purchased or redeemed by you or another user on the primary console for your Nintendo Account.
- Scroll through the HOME Menu to see if the game is already downloaded to your console. For DLC, launch the game and check if the content appears.
- You may need to select All Software to view your full list of downloaded games.
- If the content does not appear, redownload it at no cost using the same Nintendo Account that was originally used to purchase it.
- How to redownload individual DLC
- Access Nintendo eShop using the Nintendo Account that was used to purchase the content.
- Search for the game title that the content is associated with.
- Select the game and scroll down to view all available downloadable content below the game details.
- Select the previously purchased downloadable content. It will display as purchased instead of showing a purchase price.
- Select Redownload to redownload the content. The download will begin automatically. You can check the download status on the HOME Menu.

- How to redownload a game from Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch
- From the HOME Menu, open Nintendo eShop using the Nintendo Account that was used to purchase the game.
- Select the picture of your icon in the upper right corner to access your Account Information.
- Highlight Redownload on the left side of the screen. A list of titles you’ve purchased will appear.
- Highlight the game you want to redownload and select the orange icon to begin downloading the game and any DLC for it that you have purchased. You can check the download status on the HOME Menu.

- Game does not appear in list of previous titles
Try again with other accounts on the console until you locate the one that was used to make the purchase.
- How to redownload individual DLC
Situation not resolved
If you wish to obtain the content using your own Nintendo Account, you will need to either deregister the primary console for the Nintendo Account that already purchased the content or delete the user that purchased the content.
- Deregister the primary console

- The owner of the Nintendo Account must enter their password to deregister their primary console. No data is lost or deleted during this process.
- Delete the User
Follow our steps for How to Delete a User Account on Nintendo Switch.
- All save data associated to the user will be deleted.
- The Nintendo Account will be unlinked, but it will not be deleted. Software purchased using the Nintendo Account cannot be played until the Nintendo Account is re-linked to a new user.
